Dr. Katherine (Katy) Collin earned her PhD in International Relations from AU’s School of International Service. Her work focuses on peacemaking and building, democratization, and the role of elections in post-conflict transitions. Dr. Collin’s dissertation is on the use of referendums in peace processes. She has conducted research in Afghanistan, Cyprus, East Timor, Indonesia, Romania, and South Sudan. She has a decade of experience administering and advising on post-conflict elections in Kosovo, Afghanistan, Iraq, Nepal, South Sudan, and Libya. In particular, Dr. Collin has conducted transitional elections around the world for refugees and ex-patriots. She has a BA in History and Peace and Conflict Studies from UC Berkeley and a master’s degree in international policy from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey.
